Autumn Favourites

So it's that time of year again when you start putting away the shorts, flip flops and sunglasses, and start pulling out the woolly jumpers, fluffy socks and hoodies. The Halloween decorations start popping up in shops, the leaves on the trees slowly turn orange and the sun starts to hide away behind the clouds. Fresh faced year sevens crowd the buses and that's when we all know that Autumn has finally begun.

This Autumn there are so many things I love and want to share with you guys! Feel free the comment your Autumn favourites. Enjoy :)

As you all know I am a mahoosive  shopaholic so I couldn't resist including some sneaky fashion faves in this post.

  1. I recently discovered an amazing online clothing site called TeeIsland through Amazon. They do a selection of t shirts, tank tops, sweaters, beanies and backpacks. The clothes they sell are really cool and unique, I could even go as far as describing them as "hipster" but I'm not going to do that.
  2.  Who doesn't love a beanie in weather like this eh? Not only do they look good, they keep you warm in weather like this and not forgetting the fact that they are life savers on bad hair days. I don't know what factor appealed to me the most, but I absolutely love them.
  3. Cold weather like this gives us the chance to bring the woolly jumpers out from hibernation from the backs of our wardrobes. I have grown out of my jumpers from last year, so I'm going to be on the search for some new ones. I recently brought one from One Republic which is really comfy and cute , but that won't stop me from wanting more.
  4.  Frilly socks are finally back in fashion. Praise the Lord! I love frilly socks because they look so cute and go with everything. Top Shop do a fab collection of frilly socks in a wide variety of styles and colours, so I couldn't resist buying three pairs, (there was a deal on guys, 3 for £8 don't judge).

I have to admit I haven't really bought much make up this Autumn, only a few items which really caught my eye.

Eos lip balm, one of my favourite lip balms I've ever had. I got the Strawberry Sorbet which comes in a pretty pink ball. The smell is absolutely amazing and I think I might be addicted to this thing. It doesn't feel sticky on the lips like some lip balms do and they leave my lips smooth for hours. I know they have been out for a few years now, but I only recently got my hands on one. The lip balms come in many other flavours so I am eager to get more.

  1. A few weeks ago my mascara, as they do, ran out, so off I popped to my nearby Boots. There I quickly found what I was looking for; the mascara isle. I always find it hard to chose mascara because you cant really test what they'll be like. Finally I chose
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara. I've had it for a few weeks now and have come to the conclusion that it does what is says and that it was a really good buy.
Loads of new songs have come out that I like recently. I don't normally listen to pop music that's on stations like Kiss or Capital, but recently I've found that I actually like a lot of the songs they play. So here are my favourites.

  1. Two words; The Vamps. I could fan girl over these boys all day. Can we all just stop for a minute and admire them. They can sing and they are cute. What else can you want in a boy band? You see my point?
  2. I know everyone has their own opinion on Miley Cyrus, but can we all just forget this for one moment and  think about her song "Wreaking Ball". It is actually a great song if you remove her swinging naked on a ball chained to the ceiling, crying and licking a hammer.
  3. Macklemore has yet again pulled it out of the hat with his new song "Same Love". The lyrics are so truthful and inspirational.
  4. I have listened to One Republic for a few years now, and they haven't really had any songs out for a while, but suddenly. BAM. "Counting Stars" shot out of nowhere and flew straight up the charts. One Republic are a really good band, and I every single song of theirs, so imagine my excitement when that happened.
  5. I don't thing Jason Derulo will ever get old. "Talk Dirty" is such a catchy song, and I will never know how it has stayed in the charts without getting boring like most songs do.

Not forgetting it's Halloween soon, which is my second favourite season (Christmas is first). I'm not really doing anything this year, but that doesn't stop me from giving out sweets and carving pumpkins. If you're going out for Halloween, comment below what you're going as!

Hope you enjoyed this post, comment below if you like any of the things I've said or anything you recommend to me. Follow me on BlogLovin or just follow this blog (on the right) I always follow back :)

Maybelline Dream Matt mouse foundation | Review

I'm always on the search for the perfect foundation for my skin. I recently stumbled upon Maybelline Dream Matt mouse foundation, and immediately fell in love. I had my previous foundation, the True Match powder foundation by L'Oreal for quite a while, but it wasn't really right for my skin and sometimes looked cakey and felt heavy, so I wanted a change.

As the name suggests, this foundation has a soft, spongy feeling that feels powdery soft and light when you apply it to your face. However, due to this it shows up dry patches of skin very easily, meaning that you might want to apply moisturizer first.

If I apply it directly after moisturizer, it doesn't dry out my skin and draw attention to dry patches. However, this effect slowly ends before the end of the day. It does stay on all day though, and doesn't oxidise or turn orange and feels very light, therefore it doesn't clog pores.

It is easy to apply, you can either use a brush or your fingers, both work just the same. Because it has a soft matt texture it blends into your skin well and doesn't look cakey.

I purchased the foundation in the sand colour from Superdrug for only £7.69. I will definitely be buying this again

Grown Ups 2 Review

So yesterday I went to the cinema with 3 of my best friends Sophie Freya and Tamara. We saw the film Grown Ups 2 which was absolutely hilarious.

In the first Grown Ups, five middle-aged men (James, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider) reunite at the funeral of their old baseball coach, and decide to spend a weekend reconnecting at Lenny Feder's (Sandler) lake house. They all bring along their wives and children. The sequel takes place three years later. All the characters are mostly the same, except for Schneider, who was replaced by the effortlessly funny Nick (Nick Swardson).

It’s the last day of school before summer and the childhood buddies from the original Grown Ups movie all now live in the suburban town where they grew up but life is still not perfect in the ‘burbs. Apparently early-retired from Hollywood, Lenny  and his hot wife Roxanne (Salma Hayek) and their kids (including Cameron Boyce from TV’s “Jessie”) find a huge deer in their house and freak.

Eric (Kevin James) tries not to discourage his obviously super stooopid young son and flatters his daughter Donna’s ugly, self-designed light-up “go-go” boots while Kurt (Chris Rock) deals with his wife forgetting their anniversary and his toddler son’s poo-filled diaper and Marcus (David Spade) meets Braden (Hunger Games’ Alexander Ludwig) the son he never knew he had; a huge, angry kid who scares him.

Lenny’s teen son Greg is crushing on hot Nancy (Halston Sage) but is afraid to ask her out, a nerd asks Charlotte (China Anne McClain) out and Keithie (Cameron Boyce) is bullied by a huge guy on the school bus. The adults deal with their own problems: Eric is spending more time with his nurturing mom than his wife, Roxanne wants another baby and the guys are longing for their more exciting high school days while reuniting with some bad boys from their childhood who are now the town cops (Shaquille O’Neal plays one of them).

Frat boys take over the adult guys’ favourite swimming hole in a big stone quarry and their leader (Twilight’s Taylor Lautner) challenges them to jump off a high cliff into the water naked. Of course, they do. Angry that his newly-discovered dad lied to him to keep from spending time with him, Braden trashes the frat house making the guys think Lenny and his pals, including Braden’s dad, did it.

In addition to a huge fight between the party-crashing frat boys and everybody else, Lenny’s ‘80’s party includes him finally getting even with the bully who haunted his childhood when the guy decides to bond with him and they “fake” a fight which Lenny fake-wins. The same deer from the first scene attacks Taylor Lautner with disastrous results and Charlotte gets to show off her singing talent while Nancy finally kisses a grateful Greg, Keithie overcomes his bully and Marcus and son buddy up.

Way more goes on in the Grown Ups 2 story than I had space to mention but there are more “ewwwww”, gross pottie humour moments in the film than truly funny ones. Sure, you’ll have some laughs and you might escape summer boredom while you identify with some of the young teens enjoying a first beer, first date/kiss and suffering a first bully etc.

You might also have fun seeing Twilight hottie Taylor Lautner play a silly, macho frat boy jock who gets to throw some pretty awesome martial arts moves in the movie and show that he can do comedy or you might like hearing like two seconds of China McClain from “A.N.T. Farm” singing.

Definitely going to watch this movie again.

The Liebster award

Hello there my lovely readers! So I was recently nominated for the Liebester Award by the amazing A Teen Girl's Life! Thanks so much, it made my day! :)

If you don't already know, the Liebster award is for bloggers with under 200 followers. It's a way for new bloggers to meet new people and get new followers.

The rules

-You must link back the person who nominated you
-You must answer the 10 questions given to you by your nominee
-You must pick several bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers
-You must come up with 10 questions for your nominees to answer
-You must go to their blogs and notify them

What I need to answer:

Talk me through your daily skin routine:
I don't really have much of a routine to be honest. When I wake up I wash my face with freederm exfoliating facial wash, I repeat this before I go to bed. My lips get quite dry so I normally use Vaseline daily.

What is your favourite subject at school?
I like most subjects, but my favourite two are history and geography.

What did you think of Miley's performance at the MTV awards?
Miley Cyrus’ performance at last weekend’s annual MTV Video Music Awards has raised more than a few eyebrows for it’s raunchy nature. Appearing in a nude bikini while making suggestive dance moves with a foam finger alongside Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke – it was a brave move for the former Disney star. To be honest I am not really bothered. Its up to her how she dresses and acts, its just that it is extremely different to how Disney portrayed her personality.

Is there someone you really admire at school or work? If so, why?
There isn't really anyone I admire at school, not even any teachers.

If you were scouted (given the chance) to be a model, would you go for it? Why?
Yeah. I probably would,(even thought it is extremely unlikely) because I love fashion and it would be a great experience. Why not?

If a close friend of yours had ditched you to be with someone popular, how would you react?
Hmm, I would be a bit pissed of. I don't want to be friends with anyone who puts popularity before true friends, because that just shows that they're not loyal. They obviously don't care enough about you if they ditch you for someone who's more "popular", and nobody should waste their time with people like that.

Is there a sport you're secretly or not so secretly good at?
I'm not really a sporty person, but I have to admit I do enjoy tennis and badminton.

What's your starsign? Research on some of your traits and share!
Leo~JULY 24 - AUGUST 23. Apparently I am original, imposing, inflexible, motivated, ambitious, loyal, physical, charitable and majestic.
What are your goals in life?
Just to do my best and follow my dreams. To never give up and keep on trying.

What did you dream about last night?
Hmm I think One Direction, I didn't dream about them in that way, I dreamed about their new movie  "This Is Us" which I saw today with my friend Sophie. It was really good.

bk 2 skl

This part of the summer is always the worst; its gradually getting colder, and you know at the back of your head that these last precious lay ins will  be envied in a few days time.

There's only few days left until I go back to school, *groan*. I'm really can't wait to see all my friends, and having a laugh with them, but I'm not looking forward to getting back into the schedule of getting up early and working all day. Who looks forward to that part of school? Plus its getting colder, and I have to get the bus. Nobody likes having to get on a cold bus, knowing they've got 9 hours of work ahead of them. There's also GCSE's to think about. Year 10 is when it starts to get serious. No more messing around. I've got to focus and work hard (as if).

This year had better go quick.
